Schedzo Products — Frequently Asked Questions

Discover, showcase and sell handmade products from independent makers, creators and local businesses.

Whether you want to showcase what you make, direct customers to your own website, or sell directly through Schedzo, here’s how Schedzo Products works.

1. What is Schedzo Products?

Schedzo Products is a marketplace dedicated to handmade and independently made products from makers, creators and businesses.

It gives makers a place to showcase what they create and helps customers discover unique products from independent sellers.

Products listed on Schedzo must be handmade, created or substantially produced by the seller. Schedzo Products is not intended for the general resale of mass-produced products purchased from wholesalers, marketplaces or other retailers.

2. Do I have to use Schedzo's online checkout?

No.

You can showcase your handmade products on Schedzo without accepting payments through Schedzo.

If you prefer to sell directly, you can provide a link to your own website and your contact details on your product page. Customers can then contact you or continue to your website to purchase directly from you.

If you would like customers to purchase directly through Schedzo, you can connect your Stripe account and use Schedzo's secure online checkout.

Showcase & Connect

Showcase your handmade products and provide customers with your website and contact details. You do not need to use Schedzo checkout.

Sell through Schedzo

Connect Stripe and allow customers to purchase your handmade products directly through Schedzo's secure checkout.

3. How do I start listing products?

Create a Schedzo account and set up your business/trade profile. You can then add your handmade products with information such as photos, descriptions, prices and available options.

You can choose whether you simply want to showcase your products and provide your own website or contact information, or accept purchases directly through Schedzo using Stripe.

You do not need to connect Stripe simply to showcase your handmade products on Schedzo.

4. What products can I list?

Schedzo Products is for products that are handmade, created, crafted or substantially produced by the seller.

This may include handmade jewellery, artwork, crafts, candles, clothing, accessories, home décor, personalised creations, baked goods and other independently made products.

Using tools, equipment, printing processes or purchased materials does not necessarily mean a product is not handmade. What matters is that the seller genuinely creates or substantially produces the finished product.

Schedzo Products is not intended for simply reselling mass-produced goods bought from wholesalers, retailers or other marketplaces.

5. How does online payment work?

Sellers who want to accept purchases directly through Schedzo can connect their Stripe account and complete Stripe's payment setup.

When a customer completes an eligible product purchase through Schedzo, the payment is securely processed using Stripe. Schedzo's applicable marketplace commission is deducted automatically as part of the transaction, and the seller's portion is handled through their connected Stripe account.

Sellers do not need to manually send Schedzo its commission after each sale.

6. How much does Schedzo charge for product sales?

Schedzo is free to join and free to list on. There are no Schedzo membership or product-listing fees.

For handmade products sold through Schedzo's online checkout, Schedzo charges the seller a 5% marketplace commission on the product sale.

If you simply showcase your products on Schedzo and a customer completes their purchase independently through your own website or directly with you, Schedzo does not take a commission on that external transaction.

Stripe payment-processing fees are separate from Schedzo's 5% marketplace commission and may apply to transactions processed through Stripe.

7. Does the customer pay Schedzo's 5% commission?

No. The 5% Schedzo marketplace commission is charged to the seller for product sales completed through Schedzo checkout.

It is not added to the customer's basket as a separate Schedzo marketplace fee.

8. Are there any other costs?

Stripe may charge payment-processing fees for transactions processed through its platform. These fees are separate from Schedzo's marketplace commission and can vary depending on the transaction.

Sellers are also responsible for their own business expenses, taxes, packaging, shipping and other costs associated with producing and fulfilling their products.

9. Do I need a Stripe account?

You only need to complete Stripe setup if you want customers to purchase your products using Schedzo's online checkout.

You can still showcase your handmade products without Stripe and provide customers with your own website and contact information instead.

Where a seller has chosen Schedzo checkout but has not completed the required Stripe payment setup, online checkout will remain unavailable until their setup is complete.

10. Can customers buy from my own website instead?

Yes.

If you already have your own website or online shop, Schedzo can help people discover your handmade products without requiring you to replace your existing store.

You can provide a link to your website and appropriate contact details from your product presence on Schedzo so customers can continue directly to you.

11. Do I need my own website?

No.

You do not need an existing website to showcase your products on Schedzo. If you want to accept online purchases through Schedzo, you can connect Stripe and use Schedzo's checkout where available.

This means Schedzo can work for established makers who already have an online shop as well as people who are just beginning to sell their handmade products.

12. Who sets the product prices?

The seller does. Independent sellers set their own product prices and are responsible for ensuring that their pricing, descriptions, images, options and other listing information are accurate.

13. Who handles shipping?

The seller is responsible for packaging, dispatching and fulfilling their products.

Sellers should clearly communicate the delivery or collection options available for their products and any applicable shipping charges.

Schedzo provides the marketplace and checkout technology but does not warehouse, package or ship products on behalf of sellers.

14. Can sellers offer Click & Collect?

Where offered by the seller, customers may be able to choose Click & Collect instead of delivery.

The seller is responsible for arranging collection and ensuring that the customer's order is ready at the agreed location and time.

15. Can products have different options or extras?

Yes. Where available, sellers can offer product options and extras, such as different sizes, styles, finishes or other variations.

16. Can I put my products on sale?

Yes. Sellers can offer promotional pricing on eligible products. Where a promotion is active, customers can see the applicable sale price when viewing the product.

17. Who is actually selling the product?

Products listed on Schedzo are sold and fulfilled by the independent seller identified on the product listing.

Schedzo provides the marketplace and technology used to discover products and, where selected, facilitate online transactions. Schedzo does not manufacture, stock or fulfil sellers' products.

18. What if I have a problem with an order?

Customers should contact the seller in the first instance regarding product, fulfilment or delivery issues.

Where payment was made through Schedzo's online checkout, Schedzo may also provide transaction support or tools where appropriate. Nothing in Schedzo's policies affects any statutory consumer rights that may apply.

19. Who is responsible for returns and refunds?

Sellers are responsible for complying with applicable consumer laws and for communicating any relevant return, cancellation and refund arrangements to their customers.

Where an order was paid for through Schedzo checkout, any refund must also follow the applicable Schedzo and Stripe payment process.

20. Are there products that cannot be sold on Schedzo?

Yes. Products must comply with Schedzo's policies and applicable laws. Schedzo may reject, restrict or remove listings that are prohibited, unsafe, unlawful, misleading, inappropriate for the marketplace or do not meet Schedzo's handmade-product requirements.

21. What happens if a seller receives consistently poor reviews?

Schedzo wants customers to feel confident when purchasing handmade products from sellers on the platform.

Sellers who receive repeated poor reviews, serious customer complaints, or reports relating to misleading listings, poor fulfilment, unsafe products, or inappropriate conduct may have their account or listings reviewed by Schedzo.

Where concerns are substantiated, Schedzo may restrict listings, suspend an account or remove a seller from the platform.

A single negative review will not normally result in automatic removal. Reviews and complaints may be assessed alongside other available information to help ensure the process is fair to both customers and sellers.

22. Can I offer services as well as handmade products?

Yes.

A Schedzo business can showcase eligible handmade products as well as services.

The fee structures are different. Product sales completed through Schedzo checkout are subject to the 5% Schedzo marketplace commission, while Schedzo currently charges 0% marketplace commission on services.

23. Is Schedzo Products only for established businesses?

No.

Schedzo Products is designed for independent makers, creators, sole traders, small businesses and growing brands as well as more established businesses.

You don't need a large catalogue or your own ecommerce website to get started.
