Schedzo Services — Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about offering, discovering and booking local services through Schedzo.
Whether you're a service provider looking to grow your business or a customer looking for someone local, here's how Schedzo Services works.
1. What is Schedzo Services?
Schedzo helps customers discover and connect with independent local service providers and businesses.
Providers can showcase the services they offer, manage availability, receive bookings and enquiries, provide quotes and manage their work through Schedzo.
Customers can discover providers, compare services, view availability and book services from one place.
2. How do I start offering services on Schedzo?
Create a Schedzo account and set up your business/trade profile. You can then add the services you provide, including descriptions, prices and availability where applicable.
Once your eligible services are available on Schedzo, customers can discover your business and interact with your listings.
3. How much does Schedzo charge for services?
Schedzo currently charges 0% marketplace commission on services.
Schedzo is free to join and free to list on. There are no Schedzo membership or service-listing fees.
This is different from handmade products sold through Schedzo's online product checkout, where a 5% seller marketplace commission applies.
4. Who sets the price of a service?
The service provider does.
Independent providers are responsible for setting their own prices and ensuring that their service descriptions, pricing and other information are accurate.
5. Do I need Stripe to offer services?
No.
You do not need to connect Stripe simply to create a Schedzo profile, showcase your services or accept bookings where an online payment is not required.
Stripe setup may be required if you choose to accept eligible online payments through Schedzo.
6. Can customers pay me directly?
Where available for the service, providers can offer payment arrangements appropriate to their business, including payment outside Schedzo or eligible online payment options.
The payment options available to a customer will depend on those offered by the individual provider.
7. Can I accept deposits or full online payment?
Where supported and enabled by the provider, a service may allow an eligible online deposit or full payment.
Providers remain responsible for clearly communicating their pricing, payment requirements and any remaining balance due.
8. How do bookings work?
Providers can manage their services and availability through Schedzo. Customers can view the available information for a service and submit a booking for an available date or time where online booking is offered.
Bookings are then available through Schedzo so providers and customers can keep track of their arrangements.
9. Can I control my availability?
Yes.
Providers control the availability they make available for bookings. This helps customers see when a service is available before submitting their booking.
10. What if my service doesn't have a fixed price?
Not every job can be priced before a provider understands what is required.
Schedzo also supports job and quote-based interactions, allowing customers to describe work they need and receive relevant quotes from service providers where available.
11. Can I share my Schedzo booking page?
Yes.
Providers can share their Schedzo presence with customers so people can discover their services and access the relevant booking or enquiry options.
12. Can customers cancel or reschedule bookings?
Cancellation or rescheduling options depend on the booking and the applicable provider or platform rules.
Customers should check the information associated with their booking and contact the provider where necessary.
13. Who actually provides the service?
Services listed on Schedzo are provided by the independent provider or business identified on the listing.
Schedzo provides the technology and marketplace that helps customers and providers discover, connect, book and manage services. Schedzo does not itself perform the services listed by independent providers.
14. Who is responsible for licences, insurance and qualifications?
Each independent provider is responsible for ensuring they have any licences, permissions, qualifications, registrations or insurance required for the services they provide.
Customers should consider any qualifications or other requirements that are important to them when choosing a provider.
15. Can customers rate and review services?
Where Schedzo's rating and review features are available, customers can provide feedback about their experience.
Reviews can help other customers make informed choices and help good local providers build their reputation.
16. What if there's a problem with a service?
Customers should contact the service provider in the first instance if there is a problem with a booking or the service provided.
Where appropriate, Schedzo may provide platform or transaction support. Nothing in Schedzo's policies affects any statutory consumer rights that may apply.
17. Can I offer both services and handmade products?
Yes.
A Schedzo business can offer services as well as eligible handmade products.
For example, a baker could offer custom cake services while also listing handmade products, or a beauty professional could offer appointments alongside eligible handmade products they create.
The fee structures are different: Schedzo currently charges 0% marketplace commission on services, while handmade products sold through Schedzo checkout are subject to a 5% seller marketplace commission.
18. Is Schedzo only for established businesses?
No.
Schedzo can be used by independent professionals, sole traders, local service providers, small businesses and growing teams as well as established businesses.
19. I'm a customer. Do I need an account?
You can discover information about services on Schedzo, but an account may be required to complete certain actions such as making and managing bookings, orders or other interactions.
20. What happens if a provider receives consistently poor reviews?
Schedzo wants customers to have confidence in the providers they discover through the platform.
Providers who receive repeated poor reviews, serious customer complaints, or reports of unsafe, misleading or inappropriate conduct may have their account or listings reviewed by Schedzo.
Where concerns are substantiated, Schedzo may restrict listings, suspend an account or remove a provider from the platform.
A single negative review will not normally result in automatic removal. Reviews and complaints may be assessed alongside other available information to help ensure the process is fair to both customers and providers.
